About me

I am one half of the team at Different Therapy; named because we are different - distinct, individual, diverse - and that is to be celebrated, as are the differences in every client.

I understand how difficult it is for people to explore their differences. Counselling can be tough, I know that, and I will use my experience and knowledge to work with you in a way that helps you get to your goal as effectively as possible. It is my priority to offer a service that is inclusive, where you will be safe to look at what has brought you to counselling and where you can learn to celebrate you!

My passion for counselling developed many years ago and continues to grow. For me, counselling has been life changing. Now I want to help you. I have understanding and experience in GSRD. I am a sex positive and kink aware counsellor. People come to me as an LGBTQIA+ ally and because of my experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, abuse, low self-esteem,  childhood issues and family issues.

I am a qualified, registered member of BACP and NSC accredited. I am happy to answer any questions about my experience and my training.

You are deserving of kindness, compassion and acceptance. I will offer you these as you share your story - a story that is unique to you, which is why your counselling journey will reflect that. You can be assured that whatever you share with me in your sessions, you will be accepted, as you are, as you have always deserved to be, and together we can explore issues that are sitting with you. You will experience a space where your voice will be heard, where you'll feel genuine interest in what is going on for you. It will be hard work, but we will absolutely find space for laughter along the way.

I use a range of therapeutic approaches to work with you in a way that is most suited to your needs. The diverse needs of my clients has grown my expertise beyond what I ever imagined and I am confident you will benefit from my approach as it will always be focused on you.

You will be warmly welcomed in the therapeutic environment and I look forward to joining you where you are now. I will listen, and with the kindness and compassion I offer, you will find ways to live a more fulfilled life.

Training, qualifications & experience

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
