About me

I am an experienced Psychodynamic Counsellor based in central Bath.    I work with relationship issues, anxiety, depression and low self-confidence but you may be struggling with feeling stuck, overwhelmed or feeling something is wrong, but aren't able to make sense of it.  Whatever is your concern, I  offer a  supportive, non-judgemental and confidential space where together we can  try and understand what's been happening for you, helping you to process and come to terms with difficult emotions, thoughts and feelings, enabling you to  find a way forward.

Life can bring many emotional challenges and negotiating change and uncertainty can be difficult.   We can think together to understand how early experiences and relationships which are carried unconsciously through life can influence our adult selves in our everyday lives and relationships.  Becoming more aware of these unconscious processes and how they can form patterns of relating or be interlinked with present experiences and relationships can help you find inner resources to cope and live a more satisfying life.

I am qualified to work with adults and work in a comfortable, calm room in Bath city centre which is easily accessible by car or public transport.

Please contact me by email or phone if you would like to arrange an initial meeting where we can discuss what help you are looking for.   Once counselling sessions are agreed between us, sessions will be arranged on a once-weekly basis at the same time and on the same day.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained with Wessex Counselling & Psychotherapy Service (WCPS) and hold a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and abide by the BPC Code of Ethics.

I am a Member of BPC and WCPS and work with WCPS as a sessional counsellor.

I regularly attend workshops and talks as part of my commitment to Continuing Professional Development.

I am in regular supervision for my private practice and my work with WCPS.

I have an up to date full DBS check.

British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)

The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.

BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
