About me

Hello thank you for viewing my profile. My name is Bridie and I run a private practice based in Rossington, Doncaster.

I am extremely passionate about my work as a counsellor and life coach.
When you are experiencing problems, life can feel a real struggle. Admitting that something isn't right in your life is one of the hardest things to do. Managing day to day life whilst battling various issues such as anxiety, depression and low self esteem, even the simplest of tasks can feel too much to cope with.

I have over 9 years of experience working with people who suffer from low self worth. I also have more than two decades of personal experiences that allow me to fully understand how isolating and frustrating life can be.
It can feel daunting contacting a counsellor, not knowing what to expect, what to say or where to start. Taking the first step is always the hardest, I am here to support you throughout.

I offer a non judgemental, safe and empathic space for you to offload and work through any issues that you feel are holding you back and preventing you from living a fulfilled life.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding the sessions I can offer.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am qualified Person Centred Counsellor. CBT Therapist. Child and Adolescent Counsellor, Hypnotherapist and Life Coach.

I have experience counselling a wide variety of issues such as low self esteem and confidence, physical, sexual and emotional abuse, PTSD, OCD, Anxiety, Anger, Depression, Loss and Bereavement, Relationship Issues and Child Sexual Exploitation.

As a hypnotherapist I have experience working with weight loss and weight management, self esteem, anxiety and various unwanted patterns of behaviour.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
