About me

I am a counsellor working with clients via an online platform. I can also offer face to face work, walking outside in nature. I work, compassionately, supportively, empathetically, and professionally.

I firmly believe that a quality alliance is the foundation for all therapeutic work. I warmly welcome you and will hold a safe, non-judgemental space for you to be curious, and to explore those areas which are important to you.

I work with adults and young people of all genders.

You are not alone, you are not to blame for what happened to you, you have survived and found yourself here, ...maybe now is the right time to carve out that space and to sit with someone who can listen and support...

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a member of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I abide by their ethical frameworks and hold all relevant professional insurance cover. Additionally, I am Cigna insurance affiliated.

I trained and practise as a person-centred, integrative counsellor, utilising various modalities to support individual clients' needs. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional which means I work in a trauma informed way.

I have a First Class Masters Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am committed to continued professional development, ensuring knowledge and flexibility in the most up-to-date research and interventions. Some of the most recent courses I have completed are working with complex trauma, working with displaced people, mediation for resolution, childhood sexual abuse; the body keeps the score and Gabor Mate's Compassionate Inquiry in Action.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Underpinning all work which we undertake together will be a quality therapeutic alliance. With this foundation a priority, I am hopeful that my support will enable curiosity and exploration around any issues which are troubling you.

Over the past few years I have also worked with a lot of young people. It is important that they feel confident in their identity and are able to express themselves congruently. I often support them to rebuild their confidence, self-esteem, and sense of self.

There are many complex areas which young people may find challenging. These include anxiety, trauma, depression, ADHD, autism, overwhelming emotions such as anger, disordered eating, relational issues, lack of motivation and/or procrastination, sexuality and self-identity issues, LGBTQIA+ challenges, emotional regulation, self-harm, conflict with family or in friendships, bullying, school issues, self-esteem, body image, abuse and loss.

I have a compassionate, measured, and understanding approach to working with young people of all genders, creating a safe space for them to explore their thoughts and feelings.
