About me

My name is Björn, a qualified therapist with a master’s degree in clinical psychology. Over 10+ years, I have developed a broad range of skills and experience and specialise in supporting those struggling with confidence, loss, trauma, relationship difficulties and self-harming behaviours.

What I offer:

  • remote talking therapy (online and via telephone)
  • ages 16+
  • personalised therapy adapted to your goals and preferences
  • weekly sessions

Working together, we will:

  • explore your feelings, significant life events, current and past relationships
  • identify struggles/issues as well as your strengths
  • evaluate your current coping strategies
  • recognise blocks to change and opportunities for change and development
  • look towards the future and how you want yourself and your life to be

How therapy might benefit you:

  • increased understanding of your feelings, experiences and relationships
  • improved communication
  • letting go of unhelpful behaviours
  • refining current coping strategies or developing new ones
  • increased confidence
  • increased knowledge about mental health

The process of therapy is very individual to each client. What we work on and how we do this will depend on your experiences, goals and preferences and how we can best work together therapeutically to help you get where you want to be.

During therapy, we may look at and evaluate your current coping strategies, identify blocks to change and development, explore your past and present, as well as looking forward to how you want yourself and your life to be.

Our work might include sharing information about mental health and how it is impacted by our surroundings and experiences, speaking about specific issues or focusing on patterns of thought, behaviour and action.

We may also pay attention to your lifestyle (e.g. nutrition, sleep, exercise, self-care) and how this impacts your general wellbeing and mental health.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
