Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor | MSc Psychology

About me

Hi, I’m Billie. I’m a Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor and psychology-trained practitioner working with adults, young people and couples across Essex and online throughout the UK.

People often seek therapy when something begins to feel overwhelming, stuck or difficult to manage alone. You might feel emotionally overwhelmed, notice certain patterns repeating, or have a sense that something doesn’t feel quite right despite managing day to day on the surface, even if you can’t fully put it into words yet.

I work with adults, young people and couples across a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. While I have particular experience supporting those navigating trauma, ADHD, addiction and relationship challenges, I also work with many other concerns, including anxiety, low mood, self-esteem, life transitions and feelings of being stuck or overwhelmed.

I understand that these experiences often overlap and can affect many areas of life, including relationships, confidence and overall emotional wellbeing. My work considers you as a whole person and the wider context of your life, rather than focusing solely on symptoms.

Alongside my private practice, I bring extensive clinical experience and a strong academic foundation in psychology and psychotherapy. My professional work has included roles within the NHS, private practice, and community and charitable organisations, supporting individuals with a wide range of emotional and psychological needs.

I place importance on providing a consistent, supportive and thoughtfully held therapeutic space for each person and couple I work with.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor with a strong academic foundation in psychology and psychotherapy. My work is informed by a range of therapeutic approaches, allowing therapy to be tailored to each individual rather than using a single fixed model.

Since qualifying, I have worked with adults and young people across the NHS, private practice and community and charitable organisations, supporting a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. Alongside individual therapy, I have facilitated both structured and process-based therapeutic groups and developed therapeutic programmes within community services, including work focused on self-esteem, anxiety, relationships and relapse prevention.

I am a qualified Clinical Supervisor and work with both trainee and experienced therapists. I have also previously lectured across counselling and psychotherapy training programmes, supporting the development of students from introductory training through to degree level.

Ongoing professional development remains central to my practice, ensuring that the work I offer is reflective, ethical and clinically informed.

I have a particular interest in working with ADHD and neurodivergence, and bring both professional expertise and lived understanding to this area of my work.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
