About me
We can neither change the past or control the future, but we can work with how we think, what we feel, and how we act, in the present.
My approach is Integrative (Person Centred, Gestalt, CBT) informed by ten years as a practitioner of Integrated Energy Healing (mind/body work), Shamanic Healing and a personal interest in Buddhist Psychology and Stoic Philosophy. Through listening, authenticity and sensitivity I offer an honest relationship in which you can feel safe to explore the issues that have brought you to counselling. I draw on a fairly broad and relatively deep toolkit of approaches to respond with relevance to client needs.
"It is the feeling level which controls most of our inner life, yet often we are truly unconscious of our feelings... When we have not learnt to talk about our feelings or even to be aware of them, our life remains entangled." -Jack Kornfield, A Path with Heart
I work with growing awareness of neurodiversity. Evidence suggests there are a significant number of undiagnosed adults with ADHD in the UK. ADHD and other neurovariability can cause symptoms such as anxiety and depression. You can read an article on therapy for adults with ADHD here.. https://www.counselling-directory.org.uk/memberarticles/psychotherapy-for-adult-adhd
I am particularly interested in working with developmental trauma, attachment trauma and neurodiversity through somatic therapy and mindfullness practices.
