About me

I’d like to offer you a very warm welcome. I appreciate how difficult this may be for you initially reaching out, but whether you choose to work alongside me or not, well done for taking the first crucial step in asking for help.

What I can offer

I’m a qualified humanistic psychotherapist and registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP) and an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (MNCPS Acc.). I am also a certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP1) and autism spectrum disorder clinical specialist(ASDCS). I provide talking therapy, very much tailored to meet your individual needs. I offer a warm, non-judgemental, confidential, safe space for you to off load and explore experiences that only you truly understand. You hold the key to your future happiness. You have the power to unlock your past, releasing thoughts and feelings that you may have chosen to keep hidden from those closest to you.

My experience

I have over 20 years’ experience of working alongside neurodiverse children and young people who have suffered trauma and abuse. I also work with adults, specialising in counselling members of the BAME community, including victims of domestic abuse, human trafficking and modern slavery.  I have also had the privilege of supporting friends and family members of young men held in prison.

I have walked alongside the most wonderful, brave clients with differing issues: anxiety, depression, grief, PTSD, gender identity, neurodiversity, self-harm, eating disorders and domestic violence. Each time I meet a new client, I am humbled by their courage and commitment to improve their life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

I currently offer in person, online and telephone counselling sessions which can include Teams or WhatsApp Video Calls.

In person counselling is held at the Life Therapy Centre, located in Swansea city centre. Please note that counselling is located on the first floor, accessed by one flight of stairs.  There is no lift available.

Remote counselling can be helpful if you have time constraints and allows you to feel safe and comfortable in your own environment.

You decide which method best suits your needs, communication style and life. Together we will arrange a suitable date and time.

Please check spam/junk emails for a reply from me. If I miss your call, please leave a message and I'll call you back as soon as possible.

I look forward to hearing from you.
