About me

It can be a tough first step to reach out and acknowledge that you need to enter into counselling. Maybe you have been struggling for a while and are finding it difficult to cope with your emotions and issues, and need a safe space to explore and process them.

My name is Belinda Evans and I am a BACP accredited Psychotherapeutic Integrative Counsellor working with Adults and Young Persons (age 16 +) at Cherry Tree Therapy Centre, Buckhurst Hill, Essex. I offer face-to-face, online and telephone counselling. I provide both short-term and open-ended counselling, with regular reviews to ensure effective collaboration. I also work with Bupa, Axa, Aviva, Vitality and WPA clients.

I am an Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) with ongoing supervision and continued professional development (CPD).

I qualified as a therapist in 2016 and have gained experience working and training within the NHS as a qualified Complex Bereavement Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, as well as working in Counselling Agencies, Employer Assistance Programmes (EAP) and managing my own Private Practise. I also work with Bupa, Axa, Aviva, Vitality and WPA clients.

My training included a four-year Diploma Course where I have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Person-Centred Approach as well as additional training and certificates in CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), Transactional Analysis, Solution Focused Therapy and Psychodynamic and Gestalt Therapies.

I believe the therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of meaningful change. I bring empathy, warmth and a non-judgmental presence to each session, collaborating with you to explore thoughts and emotions, building self-awareness and strengthening confidence in your decisions. As we explore this together, you may find that understanding your feelings and reducing the pressure you’re carrying can foster real change and growth.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
