About me
Hi there, I'm Becs.
I’m a neurodivergent therapist, and I understand what it’s like to navigate life with a brain that works differently. I know the challenges, the worries, and the moments of self‑doubt – but I also know the strengths, creativity, and tenacity that often come with difference.
I have lived experience in supporting my neurodiverse child who was at a crisis point whilst making sense of my own late-diagnosed neurodivergence. If you have been there too, then perhaps you also find yourself awake at night, scared for your neurodiverse child’s future whilst struggling with your own mental health? Fighting against systems that don’t work for you. Feeling judged by others as you realise that you need to break with traditional ways and find something different? All whilst carrying the weight of misunderstood or undiagnosed Autism or ADHD for your child and potentially for yourself too.
I know first-hand how devastating these experiences can be. But I also know that trauma recovery can’t be measured in targets or timelines, and my intention is to meet you exactly where you’re at. I’m here to hear your story, validate your experience, and support you through it. Things can change, and they can get better.
My approach is neuro-affirming, LGBTQIA+ welcoming and disability inclusive, supporting and celebrating your strengths and identity.
I do not view neurodivergence as a disorder or a condition, but as a naturally occurring neurotype. My practice is a safe place to be yourself, where stimming and unmasking are welcomed.
I work with young people aged 12+ and adults. I offer a free 20-minute consultation by telephone to make sure that we are the right fit to work together. Please get in touch to arrange a suitable time.
Identity:
I can support you in exploring your identity and help you make sense of your experiences. Together, we can look at what it means to feel different, to struggle with feelings of not being good enough, or to navigate challenges around self‑esteem and self‑worth. I also work closely with those living with disabilities, offering space to understand lived experience without assumptions.
Young people (12+):
I support young people with anxiety or depression who may have had negative experiences such as bullying, identity confusion, autistic burnout or educational trauma. Together, we will focus on understanding unmet or misunderstood needs and working through the impact of traumas which may have led to self-injury and suicidal ideation. Many young people I work with struggle to trust adults as a result of past experiences, especially if they have profiles of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), but my approach centres on co‑regulation, offering space rather than expectations, and supporting autonomy and control. Eye contact is not required here, and even at times when you might be non-verbal; that’s okay too- there are so many other creative ways to communicate!
Late-discovered or diagnosed neurodiversity:
I will work with you to explore your identity and make sense of your past through the lens of your neurodivergence. Many people spend years in survival mode, feeling exhausted or stuck, so together we can look at unhelpful patterns and the impact of environments that create sensory distress, anxiety, and nervous‑system overwhelm. I will support you in understanding how the mind and body hold pain, how micro-traumas, masking, and fawning shape daily life, and how these experiences influence relationships. Many people carry a deep sense of shame linked to how they are perceived by others, leading to over-adaptation, withdrawal, loneliness, and a loss of authentic connection. Our work focuses on gently untangling these experiences so you can move toward a more empowered and self‑affirming way of being.
I also offer Therapeutic Art Sessions in-person in the Langport area of Somerset. These sessions are a gentle introduction to the therapeutic environment, created for people who may be experiencing anxiety, burnout, depression, self-injury, or educational trauma and are unable to engage in traditional counselling at this stage in their life.
There are no artistic skills needed; it is simply a space to use creativity with repetition to focus the mind and calm the nervous system.
At each session, we will use seasonal and nature-based materials to create individual works of art; you will be encouraged to explore your process and what that might bring up for you. There will be no expectation for you to talk about the past or your experience, but I will invite you to reflect on any connections between your chosen images and your inner world.
Training, qualifications & experience
- Level 4 & 5 Humanistic Counselling (Based on Transactional Analysis)
- Level 3 Psychodynamic Counselling
- Level 3 Understanding Children and Young People's Mental Health
- Level 2 Safeguarding
I work with a theory based on Transactional Analysis; part of that thinking is called Life Script, which suggests that in our childhood, we make certain decisions about how to survive and belong. Those decisions form a kind of life story – known as your Script, which becomes something we follow without realising it. In therapy, we look at that story together and decide which parts still serve you and which parts you want to rewrite.
You also have the option of working creatively, using sensory items such as stones, crystals or shells. Sometimes this helps as a way to step outside the familiar thinking mode and into something more intuitive.
Eco‑therapy is a way of working that brings the natural world into the therapeutic relationship. We might step outside, notice, or interact with the environment. It is well known that nature can become a steadying presence as we slow down and tune into the environment: sounds, textures, movement, and temperature, which can all affect our everyday experience. This helps us feel grounded and regulates the nervous system to create a sense of connection and belonging.
Essentially, these methods are an invitation, and my approach is always flexible and led by your individual needs, which may change from session to session.
I provide a quiet and safe environment where we can work together to explore your story and identify repeating patterns which may be linked to the past and continue to affect your life today. My approach enables you to take the lead in how you would like things to change, how you would like to be perceived, and begin to rewrite your story, which aligns with your authentic identity and sense of self.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
