About me

Sometimes life gets us down and we feel no-one is there for us. It happens to us all at some point and can be a very lonely place. If you'd like to talk things through, then do call or email me and we can take it from there. Sometimes talking to someone neutral and outside of family or friends can help sort out what's going on for you.

I offer counselling and psychotherapy to look at difficulties such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, weight issues, abuse, weight issues, adoption, trauma and stress. There are many different approaches that I am trained in and theories that can help unwrap the difficulties we all encounter.

Message me and we can talk further and see where we can go to from there. I try to respond within 48 hours after receiving your message.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked with many clients over the last 10 years. I work with anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, general unhappiness, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, weight issues, relationship issues, panic attacks, addiction and adoption. I believe that change is possible but sometimes we feel trapped where we are and can't see a way forward. I am optimistic that everyone can change but we might need a bit of help with how to get there.

I am a trauma-informed therapist, trained in Psychotherapy Practice, am BACP Registered and an Accredited Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I attend regular supervision and training to further my knowledge and expertise. My membership of the NCPS means that I am on a register that has been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
