About me

Are you concerned about your drinking, and wondering if it is taking up too much negative space in your life?
Is alcohol affecting your inner peace, confidence and authenticity?
Are you wanting to cut back but finding yourself in a constant cycle where you are drinking more than you want to?
Have you searched for support but are struggling to find someone that ‘gets you’?
Then this is a good time to reach out for support.

I am an Integrative counsellor based near Chulmleigh in North Devon.  I offer Walk and Talk sessions around our farm and on zoom.  I specialise in working with people with alcohol issues but also support clients with a range of other issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma and the menopause.  Therapy can give you a safe space to gently explore areas in your life without judgment, shame, or pressure.

As someone who has lived experience of stopping drinking, I understand how difficult it can be to change your relationship with alcohol.  I have supported many clients in my practice who felt stuck in this uncomfortable in-between place known as ‘Grey Area Drinking’.  Many of them wouldn’t have described themselves as dependent, but they knew that alcohol was having more of an impact in their lives than they would like.  Whether you want to moderate or get sober I can support you on your journey.

In our sessions together, we can look at:
·      The reasons you drink and the role alcohol plays for you
·      How alcohol is affecting your life and how you’d like things to change
·      Ways to manage stress, anxiety or uncomfortable emotions without      reaching for a drink.
·      The possibility of changing your drinking — whether that's drinking less, taking a break, or going alcohol-free

If you’re ready to take the first step towards understanding and changing your relationship with alcohol, or you would like support with any of the other issues listed above then please get in touch.

Further information

I am also an accredited Sober coach, through the Sober club, specifically working with 'Grey area' drinkers.

'Grey area' drinking means that you haven't reached 'rock bottom' and are physically dependent on alcohol but that you are struggling to stop or reduce your drinking.  I can incorporate support around this area within my counselling practice.

I can also offer 'Walk and Talk' sessions for those that would prefer to have therapy out in nature - this type of therapy has so many health benefits!
