About me
Based in Halifax but also working online, I am down to earth, genuine, compassionate and a curious person-centred therapist. I work with individuals and couples.
It could be that you’ve become stuck worrying about the future, or you’ve got some big stuff in your head that’s getting in the way of moving forwards and it’s time to do something with it so that you can move on. Maybe there is anger, fear and anxiety of making change, or you feel stressed and sad? Or maybe there is some unavoidable unhappiness in that is in the background of your life?
I am informal and neuro-affirming, integrative practitioner. Sessions are client-led and we work collaboratively using different concepts. I can work quickly with solution-focused counselling and with longer-term psychotherapy. I offer a non-judgemental and supportive safe space.
By understanding what’s going on in your life right now, taking a look at how the past has helped make your life, this will help you move forwards positively. Your phenomenological experience of life is what you feel, and I really do want to know about you’ve experienced and how you feel about your own world.
I also work with couples...neuro-typical, neuro-diverse or mixed neuro-types. I work with all relationships and the implicit ways that we relate within the relationship.
My work is to enable couples better understanding and communication with each other in a safe and positive way...leading to greater understanding of who and what they are, what they want to become and how do that as a couple. I work together with you to discover habit-patterns and behaviours that couples find themselves unhelpfully stuck in which sometimes can be hurtful to the relationship and the individuals. Couple-work in therapy helps to create new communication in the relationship that lead to closeness, understanding, freedom and security.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
