About me

My work is based on developing a therapeutic relationship with my clients. Using empathy and developing rapport with you enables you to work through your issue at your own pace, whatever the problem, whether it is a traumatic event from the past or a more recent issue, or one that you have been living with all your life. I offer long or short-term integrative therapy, rooted in my person-centred, relational training.

We all need help at different times in our lives for a variety of reasons and sometimes just talking to our loved ones or friends is either not possible or feels uncomfortable. Working with someone outside of your normal circle enables you to explore what is going on for you in a safe environment, where you can speak freely knowing that you will not be judged.

Loving and appreciating yourself is key to being able to move on and in time, with the right type of support, you will find your inner peace and your own life path.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, an NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) Master Practitioner and Coach, and a Clinical Hypnotherapist. I have trained in Mindfulness and offer Mindful Relaxation Sessions. I have also been trained with Grassroots Brighton in Suicide Prevention. My core training is rooted in using a person-centred approach, where the use of empathy and developing rapport is essential for a successful outcome.

I have been working in educational establishments for over 30 years and have experience of working with young people and adults of all ages. I work with clients with a wide range of issues, such as anxiety, addiction, bereavement, childhood trauma and sexual abuse and have experience of end of life therapy.

I work in an integrative way because everyone is different and everyone has different needs. All of my training, knowledge and experience means that I have access to a wide variety of tools.  I will be able to work with you in the best way possible for you. I am there to support you through your journey of transformation, whatever your needs.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
