MSc, MBACP Registered and Accred: Counsellor and Supervisor

About me

Hello, thank you for looking at my profile. I offer in-person and online sessions within a confidential, compassionate and professional counselling practice combining Humanistic and Integrative approaches.

I have been working with clients as a qualified counsellor since 2004 and through professional experience I have seen that through therapeutic conditions clients can increase awareness and make positive changes in their lives.

There may be times in our lives when we may feel sad, isolated or unable to make decisions with ease. It is at moments like these that it can be useful to seek the support of another person who is not directly involved in our daily lives.

I have supported people in reducing anxiety, recovery from depression, stop limiting behaviours, becoming empowered particularity after being in abusive relationships, begin healing from trauma and find solutions for home and workplace stresses.

I offer a free thirty minute telephone conversation so that you can gain a sense of me and my approach, and also for me to understand what you are wanting to explore. By doing this you will be able experience what it feels like to talk to me without any obligation of payment or pressure to continue with sessions.

I hope to be able to create a warm, accepting and relaxed therapeutic space so that we will be able to work together in a way that is honest and supportive of your individuality and personal aims within counselling.

If you decide that you want to work with me I will give you information about the practicalities of us working together so that you are clear about the counselling process.

I understand that clients will have different feelings about the first session and I will do my best to help you be at ease.

Couple Therapy

If you are experiencing difficulties in your relationship and feeling disconnected from each other, or simply wanting to strengthen your bond, I offer a respectful, non-judgmental, and confidential space.

My work is informed by a systemic approach, which means we will explore the patterns of interaction between you, the emotions that underpin these patterns, and the ways in which they may be affecting your relationship. Together, we can develop a deeper understanding of these cycles and work towards creating greater emotional connection, communication, and security within your relationship.

I aim to provide a safe and balanced therapeutic environment where we can explore concerns collaboratively and identify opportunities for positive change. As a compassionate and experienced practitioner, I want both partners to feel supported throughout the process of change.

Please note: I do not provide couples therapy where there is active domestic abuse, including coercive or controlling behaviour, within the relationship.

Availability: Monday - Friday 10.00 - 19.00 - Evening appointments online only.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Working Online:

I work using Zoom which allows you to access counselling from your own environment. This cuts out travelling time and may fit into a busy schedule. Even so, I recommend that you allow at least 15 minutes after sessions to think through what we have talked about. There is a need for you to be able to create privacy so that we can speak freely and you are able to gain the most you can from the work we do together.

Please make contact if you want to find out more information.
