About me
I've over thirty five years experience in and around the NHS and have supported many people, with many different problems in many different ways. Now a BACP Registered Psychotherapist I work to offer a 'helping hand' to adults in crisis through my wellbeing, psychotherapy and coaching service. Your 'crisis' may vary from from anxiety to anger management, from relationship problems including marriage breakdowns and affairs to redundancy, from bereavement to bullying, or you may just be feeling burnt out and struggling to cope with the daily demands you face at home or at work. If you're feeling anxious or lonely, isolated or invisible or have just lost sight of who you are because things around you have changed, I may be the person you are looking for.
If you need time out and want a safe and confidential space while you work things out with someone who genuinely cares then call me. Do it now because you really don't want to wait till things to get so bad that they turn into a lifelong health issue.
I'd be happy to meet you on line or face to face for an initial free of charge chat so we can work out how best to start helping you.
I'm fully insured and able to offer both long term support and outcome focussed short term support, tailored to meet your specific needs, and I'll ensure we have regular reviews as part of your therapeutic treatment plan to help you track your progress with the changes you are making.

Author of 'Masqueraid: when will you show me who you really are? A beginner's guide to authenticity' I wrote this book for the curious, self-reflective adult who feels exhausted by social performance and who wants to understand their masking patterns by exploring authenticity without exposure.
The book opens with my own personal story, when aged 12 yrs, my mother was severely injured in a car accident leaving her progressively disabled. Back then I became a primary caregiver, managing household routines, and providing intimate personal care whilst concealing my home situation from peers out of fear of ridicule. I learned to lock down my emotions, speak in clinical language and keep people at a careful distance.
Decades later, working as a psychotherapist and NLP Master Practitioner I recognised the same exhaustion in my own clients: people performing competence, cheerfulness or strength so consistently they had forgotten what they actually felt underneath. Masquer-aid is the workbook that grew from that experience and my own twenty-year journey back to myself.
Using the Venetian carnival as its central metaphor, I guide the reader through twelve structured chapters, each built around a vividly designed mask and a specific dimension of personal change: decision-making, shame, fear, resilience, trust and personal power among others. Real case studies, reflective exercises and NLP informed techniques make this a working tool, not a reading experience. Available in Hardback, Paperback and Kindle versions. http://bit.ly/3R7Fv8l
The book is not for those in acute crisis or needing immediate clinical intervention. It should not be considered a replacement for therapy.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
