About me
I offer a gentle and respectful space to allow you to explore current and past challenges that can cause stress, sadness and anxiety in your life. Whatever the situation, I will work with you as a unique individual to find a better way to navigate your circumstances. We will work together at your pace and review next steps at frequent intervals. I have over 35 years experience of working with young people, adults, couples and families
I am non-judgemental and will provide a confidential service that offers you dignity and respect regardless of your circumstances.
I am an accredited Counsellor with the British Association of Psychotherapy (BACP) and have trained in a variety of approaches including many years as a Relate trained Relationship/Couples Counsellor.
As a member of BACP I work within a strict code of conduct, values and ethics.
I am an integrative Counsellor; my original post-graduate training was in psychodynamic (understanding how our past influences our present) and person-centred ( working with you as the expert in your own world) I then studied systemic practice (how we are all part of and influenced by the people and circumstances we live within) I also hold humanistic values ( we are all doing the best we can with the life and skills we have been given).
I practice in a private and confidential environment that allows you to feel safe to take the steps you need towards taking back control of your life. Talking therapies enable people to better understand themselves and their own reactions to sets of circumstances, whilst enabling them to begin to make more positive life choices.
I work Online predominantly but will work from a private office should large Family work be requested.
If you feel unsure about the therapeutic process please feel free to call and have a private conversation to help you make the decision that is right for you and to give you confidence to make those first steps to help yourself and your situation.
Some individuals or couples find that just a few sessions can help them make the changes or offer the support they need, others will choose longer. I offer short and long term therapy and will work with you to tailor the counselling to best meet your needs.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
