About me

I am a friendly, compassionate EMDR and CBT therapist who has experience with those who are struggling with issues relating to Abuse, Anxiety, Carers, Employment issues, Depression, grief, loss, stress, illness, trauma, work issues and Relationships and self-esteem.

What To Expect From Sessions With Me

If you're feeling constantly overwhelmed, exhausted by overthinking, or stuck in a loop of worry, you are not alone - and you do not have to figure it all out by yourself.  In our sessions, we will skip the confusion jargon and focus on practical evidence-based CBT tools tailored to your daily life.  Together, we will identify unhelpful thinking patterns that are holding you back and build real, actionable strategies to help you regain control, quiet the mind, and feel like yourself again.  Let's take that first step together.

I am easy to talk to and have a non-judgmental approach. Counselling can be daunting to some people; however, I hope to enable you to feel as relaxed as possible for the two of us to work on what brought you to counselling.

About Counselling

As an Edinburgh University Master's graduate in Counselling.  I combine academic knowledge with deep clinical compassion to help you achieve lasting results.  Because every person is unique,  I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.  Instead, I integrate CBT for immediate coping tools, EMDR to process and heal past trauma or distressing memories, and Schema to break lifelong, deeply ingrained emotional patterns.  Whether you are struggling with anxiety, ADHD symptoms, stuck in a painful relationship cycle or carrying unresolved trauma, we will work safely together to understand the root cause of your pain and build a clearer, lighter path forward.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

I have over 1000 hours and 14 years of experience as a qualified counsellor. I follow the Guidelines for Good Practice of my professional body, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Accredited BACP). I have a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) diploma (Accredited BACP) and an MSc in Counselling at Edinburgh University. I have trained in schema therapy and EMDR part 1,2 &3, and I am working towards accreditation in these two branches of therapy.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BABCP
British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

I know that choosing to invest in therapy is a significant financial and emotional decision.  My fees reflect my commitment to providing the most effective, thorough care possible.  In addition to my Master's training at the University of Edinburgh, I have dedicated years to specialising in 3 distinct approaches: CBT, EMDR, and Schema Therapy.  This means our session goes beyond standard talk therapy.  Instead of just managing symptoms week to week, we can gently work through past trauma and safely unearth the root cause of long-standing patterns.  My goal is to provide you with a comprehensive, tailored space where you can experience real, lasting relief and truly meaningful change,
