About me
You will set the pace and together we’ll find a way forwards that makes your life feel better. I will support, listen, and help so it will feel like you are having a relaxed and useful meeting with yourself.
I am a qualified and experienced therapist providing understanding and non-judgemental counselling sessions to help and support you. Here you will feel welcome, heard and safe. My warm and supportive approach allows clients to work towards their goals in a safe and understanding environment. I believe in individuality and empowering you in who you are and the decisions you make.
By integrating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with Existential, Humanistic and Psychodynamic therapies I am able to help clients become more self aware, find ways of coping in the here and now, and make meaningful changes. I firmly believe life can feel better.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have fourteen years’ experience as a Counsellor working with teenagers and adults, and prior to that was a Senior O.T. working in a variety of health settings with all ages from three up.
Over the last twelve years I have practiced in schools and colleges around Wiltshire offering therapy to both students and staff, and providing training. I am a trusted and DBS checked therapist repeatedly bought in by headteachers.
My background gives me experience of a wide range of emotional health issues, illnesses, disabilities and life events. I appreciate how difficult and challenging life can be, even when all appears to be going well to outsiders.
I work with adults and teenagers on a variety of different issues such as depression, anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, panic disorder, lack of self confidence, anger, work related problems, lack of motivation, relationship issues, divorce and separation, emotional, physical and sexual abuse, low self-esteem, stress, bereavement, self-harm, loneliness, suicidal feelings, issues from childhood and OCD.
I am passionate about working with anger and anxiety. I recognising how common they are, but how draining they can be to live with, and I bring a fresh take on managing them.
Phone me or come along for an informal chat to see how counselling can help you.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
