About me
There are times in life when we can feel disconnected from ourselves. You may find yourself overthinking, struggling in relationships, feeling anxious or low, or noticing that the same patterns keep repeating despite your best efforts to change them. Perhaps you've become very good at coping on the outside, while privately feeling overwhelmed, lonely or unsure of who you really are.
Whatever has brought you here, I believe therapy offers a space to slow down, to be heard without judgement, and to begin understanding yourself with greater compassion.
About me:
I'm Annabel, an Integrative Counsellor working from a psychodynamic and attachment-informed base, seeing clients in Soho, Bethnal Green, and online.
I believe the relationship between us is where the real work happens. Long before we have words for our feelings, we learn through our earliest relationships what's safe to feel, what to hide, and how to connect. Those patterns don't stay in the past; they show up in how we relate to ourselves and others now, often as anxiety, low self-worth, or difficulty in relationships. Therapy gives us a place to notice those patterns as they happen, between us, in real time - and slowly build something different.
How I Work:
Alongside talking, I often bring in creative and imaginative approaches: visualisation, parts work, and body awareness. Some things are easier to reach through image or sensation than straight explanation, and I've found this can open up material that stays just out of reach in purely verbal work. We'll always go at your pace, I'll never push a technique that doesn't fit you.
I work with adults facing anxiety, low self-esteem, bereavement and loss (including infertility and miscarriage), relationship difficulties, and the quieter, harder-to-name feeling of not quite knowing who you are outside of what's expected of you.
If this sounds like the kind of space you're looking for, I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can see if we're a good fit before committing to anything further.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
