About me

Hi, I'm Anna, a counsellor providing face-to-face therapy for adults in Clapham | Battersea | Wandsworth | SW4, SW11, online sessions across the UK as well as Walk and Talk therapy in SW London.

You may have spent years putting others’ needs ahead of your own, being the reliable one, the high achiever, or the person who keeps everything together. Yet beneath the surface, you feel anxious, self-critical, or unsure who you are when you’re not meeting everyone else’s expectations. You second guess yourself constantly in relationships, worried that you're 'too much' or 'not enough'. You notice the same patterns repeating; overthinking, people-pleasing, striving for perfection, feeling not good enough or lonely even when surrounded by others.

If this sounds familiar, therapy can offer a space to explore what’s going on. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling tired of holding it all in, wanting to feel more grounded and authentic. Together, we’ll work at your pace to understand what’s behind the anxiety or low self-esteem, and to find ways of responding to life that feel more compassionate and true to you.

My approach is grounded in collaboration and genuine interest in your experience. I believe the therapeutic relationship itself can be healing, knowing that you are understood, and valued just as you are. I bring honesty and gentle humour to our sessions, helping you feel safe enough to explore difficult emotions and be vulnerable as well as practical ways of coping. Rather than using a fixed method, I draw on a variety of approaches to meet your individual needs.

Clients often tell me that, through therapy, they begin to understand themselves more deeply. You might begin to notice patterns of behaviour that have developed over time, and how these play out in the present. You may start to find that choices are guided by what feels authentic rather than by the need to please others. Many people develop greater self-awareness and self-confidence, and a kinder, more balanced relationship with themselves and those around them.

Therapy doesn’t get rid of life’s challenges, but it can help you meet them with greater clarity and ease. You might begin to recognise your own needs and boundaries, and to treat yourself with the same compassion you offer others. As you feel more grounded in who you are, you may find that life feels less heavy, relationships become more honest, and you begin to trust yourself again.

I invite you to book a free 15-minute consultation with me;  it is a no-pressure space to talk about what has been going on for you, what could help and whether I might be the right person to support you.

Simply click the 'Book intro call' button at the top of the page.

If you'd rather ask some questions first, please use the 'Email me' button above. Please include a phone number too so I can check you've received a reply as emails often find their way into spam!

My practice:

I am a trained Integrative Counsellor which means I draw upon a variety of methods to suit your individual needs.

I use traditional counselling techniques and creative approaches to create a therapeutic experience that is unique to you.

I have experience of working with a range of needs, both specific (anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, unhealthy perfectionism and people pleasing) and general (feeling helpless or stuck, lacking a sense of purpose or meaning in life).

I have a background in marketing and understand the challenges that often arise from working in a demanding environment. I also have several years' experience of counselling vulnerable adults in recovery from drug and alcohol use.

I work with a range of clients from different cultures, backgrounds and age groups, providing accessible and inclusive counselling.

I can provide both short-term solution-focused therapy and longer-term deeper work on the self.

I have experience providing therapy using the following models: Integrative, Person-centred, Psychodynamic and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
