About me

Welcome! I'm Anna, a Registered Therapist with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I am currently available to see clients evenings and weekends via phone or video call.

I am dedicated to helping individuals reach their full potential and overcome the various challenges life presents. Mental wellbeing is a vital part of living a healthy, happy life. There are times when everyone needs additional support and direction to navigate obstacles and life events. Therapy offers a way to work through these challenges and gain a deeper understanding of yourself, leading to a more fulfilled life.

My Approach to Therapy:

I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can talk through your struggles. I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs, which might include:

  • Teaching new skills and tools to address symptoms
  • Building healthier habits
  • Changing your mindset to align your life with your goals
  • Resolving or living with complicated feelings
  • Recognizing and altering unhelpful patterns of thinking or behaviour

Areas of Expertise:

I have worked with clients facing a variety of issues, including:

  • Depression
  •  Anxiety
  •  Insomnia
  •  Confidence and self-esteem
  •  Grief and loss
  •   Relationship issues
  •   ADHD
  •   Past traumas
  •  Attachment issues
  •  Anger management
  • Life goals
  •  Stress
  • Sexuality

Holistic Health and Mindfulness:

I also provide psychoeducation to help you understand the importance of physical health, sleep hygiene, and nutrition. As a trained mindfulness practitioner, I incorporate mindfulness techniques into my therapy sessions to enhance overall wellbeing.

Building Strong Therapeutic Relationships:

The relationship between therapist and client is crucial to the success of therapy. My down-to-earth approach has enabled me to build strong, trusting relationships, helping clients feel relaxed and open during sessions.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to schedule a session.

Training, qualifications & experience

My qualifications include a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and Counselling and a Diploma in Integrative Counselling. As an Integrative Therapist, I work with various modalities, including Person-Centred Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy, allowing me to tailor my approach to each client's unique needs. I incorporate psychoeducation into my practice to enhance my clients' understanding of what is needed for overall wellbeing. Additionally, I have completed courses in life coaching. I am also currently in training to be a Hypnotherapist, I am due to complete this course next year.

With over 20 years of experience in mental health, I have worked extensively in both the voluntary sector and the NHS. I have set up rehabilitation and mental health services and managed community mental health services. My diverse experience has given me the opportunity to work with individuals from various cultures and backgrounds, using my extensive knowledge in mental health and wellbeing to help people overcome life's challenges

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
