About me
Hi my name is Anna and I am a qualified counsellor based in Stockport. I offer face-to-face and online sessions. I have a lot of experience with issues such as domestic abuse, anxiety, depression, neurodiversity and with LGBT+ communities.
I'm here to offer you a space to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences without any judgement or pressure. It's incredibly important to be able to express yourself and be truly heard when exploring feelings and emotions, and I strive to create a welcoming and safe environment for this.
I am an integrative counsellor which means I can draw upon various counselling models to tailor my approach to you as an individual; there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling and I believe that the unique relationship between client and counsellor is central to any support.
Through that unique relationship with each client, I have been able to include different resources such as co-operative board games, video games and other creative approaches within therapy sessions. It is my firm belief that our brains all work in different ways and I think it is so important that counselling reflects this, so I am always happy to include the resources that will best support your growth and exploration or make you feel as though you can be your authentic self in our partnership.
What to expect?
I offer a free 30 minute session over the telephone or online so that you can get a sense of who I am and how we can work together. It is an opportunity for us to talk about what areas you are struggling with at the moment or want to explore. It is also a chance to ask me any questions about myself and my approach or about counselling in general.
If you decide to start sessions with me, we can adopt a flexible approach where the amount of sessions is open ended or you can choose to book for a set amount of sessions.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
