About me

Hi, I’m Anna, a counsellor and psychotherapist based in Sheffield. I offer a warm, steady and genuinely human approach, creating a space where people can show up exactly as they are.  I’m a person-centred counsellor at heart, but work integratively, which simply means I work in a way that works for you — not the other way around. I draw on a range of ideas and theories and offer a down to earth, tailored style that respects your lived experience.

Clients often describe me as friendly, easy going and grounded, with a gentle sense of humour that helps bring ease to difficult moments. My aim is to build a trusting, reparative relationship where emotions, behavioural patterns and vulnerabilities can be explored safely.

In a counselling session, I sit with people who are dealing with all kinds of difficult experiences. Many people come to talk about anxiety or low mood, trying to make sense of feelings that have become hard to manage, and are impacting their quality of life.

I also support people who are dealing with abusive relationships, workplace bullying, or burnout. Others are navigating bereavement and grief, and simply need a safe place to talk about someone they’ve lost. These conversations are held gently and at a pace that feels right for the person sitting in front of me.

A big part of my work involves supporting neurodivergent clients. We look at unpacking and softening labels, celebrating strengths and brilliance, and exploring the challenges, patterns, overwhelm and coping strategies that have kept someone afloat for years.

Above all, counselling with me is a collaborative process. We’ll figure things out together.

Sessions can be either face-to-face or online, and I offer a free 15-minute phone call upfront for you to get a sense of if I could be the right counsellor for you.

Further information

I’m based at The Lodge House in Walkley, Sheffield. It’s a beautiful old stone building with a calm, comfortable counselling room tucked away upstairs.

The staircase is wide with a sturdy handrail and grab rails. Alternatively, if a downstairs room would be preferable, this can be arranged.

Parking is available on the road outside, or on the nearby side streets, and if you’re coming by bus the 95 and 97/98 routes stop is just a short walk away.

The Lodge House is home to a friendly natural health practice offering a wide range of therapies. You can find out more about this space and the practitioners here: https://lodgehouse.org.uk
