About me
Have you been through difficult experiences that continue to affect you, even when you wish you could move on? Perhaps you struggle with anxiety, painful memories, or feeling constantly on edge. You might find yourself overthinking, feeling disconnected from the people you love, or simply getting through each day without feeling able to enjoy life as you once did.
If you have been struggling for a long time, it can be difficult to imagine things changing. You may understand why you feel the way you do, yet still find yourself caught in the same patterns of thoughts, feelings or reactions.
I’m a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of NHS experience. I offer compassionate, individual therapy for adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and other emotional difficulties. I believe that our past experiences can shape how we feel about ourselves and the world around us, but they don’t have to define our future. My aim is to help you feel understood, make sense of what you’ve been through, and find a way forward that feels right for you.
One of the things I love most about my work is seeing people begin to feel lighter. Through therapy, difficult memories can become less distressing, anxiety can begin to ease, and people can start to feel more at home in themselves again. For me, therapy is about more than reducing distress. It’s about helping you reconnect with yourself, recognise your own worth and make room for the things that give your life meaning.
My therapeutic work is predominantly focused on EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), an approach that can help people process difficult or traumatic experiences and reduce the distress associated with them. I find it particularly rewarding to see people begin to relate to their memories differently. The memories themselves may remain, but they can become less overwhelming, with less impact on how a person feels in the present. This can create more space for relationships, confidence and the enjoyment of everyday life. I also draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, mindfulness and other psychological approaches where helpful, tailoring our work to your individual needs and goals.
I offer a collaborative space where you can explore your experiences at a pace that feels manageable. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can work together to understand what has brought you here and what you would like to change.
I often think about the idea of learning to dance in the rain. Life will never be entirely free from difficulty, but even when things aren’t perfect, there can be room for connection, laughter, purpose, and joy. You don’t have to keep feeling the way you do now. There is room for change, and for rediscovering the parts of life that make it meaningful.
