About me
I’m a humanistic, person-centred counsellor offering a warm, honest and non-judgemental space to pause, make sense of what’s going on and reconnect with yourself.
Perhaps you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed or low. Maybe you’ve lost confidence, feel stuck in a relationship or life transition. Or simply have a sense that something isn’t quite right, even if, on the surface, everything looks fine. Sometimes we’re not quite sure what needs to change.
My approach is rooted in authenticity, compassion, and curiosity. I won’t tell you who you should be or give you a list of things to fix. Instead, we’ll slow things down and explore what’s beneath the surface: your thoughts, feelings, relationships, patterns, needs, and hopes. Together, we can begin to understand what’s going on and make space for you to hear your own voice more clearly.
I believe meaningful change comes from being understood, not judged, and from having the freedom to work out what is right for you. My aim is to help you feel more grounded in yourself, more confident in your choices, and better able to move forward in a way that feels true to you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have an Advanced Diploma (Level 5) in person-centred counselling. I've been working in private practice since 2021. I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their ethical framework.
My training is grounded in the humanistic tradition, with person-centred counselling at the heart of my practice. I also draw on attachment theory and other therapeutic ideas where they are helpful, while always keeping the focus on you and what feels relevant to your experience.
I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions and feelings of being stuck or disconnected from themselves. I also have an interest in supporting people navigating questions around identity, faith and spirituality, particularly when long-held beliefs or expectations are being reconsidered.
Alongside my counselling practice, my experience has given me a particular appreciation for the ways that life circumstances, relationships and the expectations we place on ourselves can affect how we feel and see ourselves.
I undertake regular supervision and continuing professional development to ensure that my practice remains thoughtful, ethical and informed.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
The Association of Christians in Counselling and Linked Professions (ACC) is a Christian professional membership organisation for those involved in counselling/psychotherapy and linked professions, i.e. pastoral care, coaching and spiritual direction, in the UK. The organisation is made up of various different membership categories, including Counsellor and Accredited, and requires all members working as counsellors to undertake Continuous Professional Development on a regular basis.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
