About me

Hi, I’m Anita, welcome to InReach Counselling & Wellbeing.

I hope to assure you that in taking the first step to seek help through counselling, will be the start of your journey, in changing the way you feel.

At times we can all find ourselves struggling to cope with difficult feelings & situations. In trying to make sense of particular thoughts, you may feel stuck or overwhelmed, where the challenge to get through each day feels too great.

You may be feeling isolated, anxious or depressed, with little hope for the future. Perhaps you are struggling in relationships, wanting to improve how you relate & connect to people. You may be feeling angry and finding it a challenge to like yourself.

You may be coming to terms with a trauma or a loss in your life and are needing to process your experience and to see a way forward.

Perhaps you feel that you’re not being heard or understood, that something in your life isn’t quite right, even though that something isn't quite clear yet.

At times it may feel difficult to understand who we really are or where we fit in with people & life. Therapy can’t erase a difficult past but it can equip you to make the changes needed, in allowing you to let go, enabling you the choice & freedom to move on. Personal therapy can offer the space you need to share & make sense of your experience, this can be profoundly helpful in making things more manageable.

I can offer a calm, safe environment, where you can explore and make sense of these difficulties, together we can find a way forward, step by step, at a pace that is comfortable for you.

I work from a person-centred, emotion-focussed approach, which puts each client’s unique journey at the heart of the work. I believe you have the inner abilities to find solutions to your challenges. I won’t tell you what to do or what choices to make, as you know yourself better than anyone. In working with me, you will not be judged for the choices you are making or have made in the past. However, if these choices are no longer working for you, we will explore alternative ways of approaching your life, to regain that sense of fulfilment & wellbeing.

My training and experience enables me to work alongside each individual, by helping to gain a deeper understanding of your worries, thoughts & emotions. My aim is to work with you to find a place of acceptance, realness and empowerment within yourself to grow & change.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
