About me

My name is Angeline. I am a friendly, warm and approachable person. I am easy to talk to and have a calm nature which I bring to my approach in therapy. My personal life experiences have prepared me for many of the issues that people face when entering counselling.

I believe that everyone has the ability to develop and grow as a person, to cope and come to terms with traumatic experiences and have a more positive outlook on life. I can help you to make those positive changes in your life.

I can offer face to face, online and telephone sessions. Online is simple as I will send a link to you to click on to.

My experience includes but is not limited to:

Anxiety, depression, OCD, panic, bereavement, low mood, relationship difficulties,

low self esteem,  childhood trauma/abuse, post traumatic stress, loss, bereavement, stress.

Training, qualifications & experience

My Training

I am trained in Person-centered, Humanistic Therapy and a I have  Certificate in Third Wave CBT which includes the following:

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)

I also completed an additional course in Trauma Focused CBT with the Anna Freud Center.

As a member of the British Association of Counselling Psychotherapy, I work to their code of ethics and am on their accredited register. I have a full DBS check (formerly known as CRB check).

My Experience

I currently work in private practice with adults and young people.

I have many years experience in supporting and counselling adults and children who have experienced anxiety, social anxiety, low mood/depression, relationship breakdown, bereavement, sexual abuse and addiction. I have worked in a variety of settings, at home, in schools, colleges, community projects such as mental health, ex offenders, woman and childrens refuge. Including working alongside children services as a trauma therapist and CAMHS as a drug and alcohol link worker. I have project managed a relationship breakdown service. I previously trained with Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse counselling service carrying out face to face and crisis telephone counselling.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

My fees are from £35.00 per session up to £55.00 for couples

The first session is at a reduced rate of £35.00 although I am happy to offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation to enquire about suitability.

Concessionary rates are available upon request, depending on circumstances.
