About me

Hi! I'm Angela

As you've clicked on my page I'm guessing you or someone you care about has been struggling for a while. No one should have to face difficult problems alone and I'm so pleased you have found the courage to take this first step on the road to getting the right support for yourself - or your loved one.

Together we can explore your concerns and when you're ready find ways of moving out of where you find yourself. You will be able to make changes and feel better - so taking the next step to contact me is a strength not a weakness.

I'm an experienced humanistic, integrative therapist based in Hereford offering confidential sessions in person in my city-centre counselling room - or online anywhere in the world - offering kind and respectful therapy in a dedicated, confidential and non-judgmental way to men and women 18 years and over in tranquil and comfortable surroundings.

I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy and adhere to the organisation’s strict ethics to provide a respectful, empathic and warm service which demonstrates my belief that every individual is deserving of positive regard without condition and without prejudice.

Know this

Painful emotions are important messages giving you the opportunity to free yourself from discomfort as you work through them. You can move towards  greater happiness and peace with someone along side you.

Where and When?

Appointments are available weekdays from 8.30am-6.30pm. Weekday evening and Saturday morning appointments are available by arrangement.

Relaxation or Mindfulness can be incorporated into the beginning or end of the session to help you to walk back into the outside world.

How many sessions will I need?

Some people feel they have gained what they need in just a few sessions, others will want to stay longer. We can go week by week or agree on a certain number of sessions, whichever feels right to you. You can begin and end therapy at any time, though it's best to have one or two ending sessions. You can return for more therapy at a later date no matter how much time has passed.

Wherever possible I endeavour to respond to you within 48 hours of first contact when required and I offer a free 30-minute consultation via secure video link to give you the opportunity to meet me.

You can contact me via phone, text or email. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

What can you expect from Therapy with me?

I use a warm and friendly approach and have a 30-year background in voluntary mentoring and using counselling skills prior to becoming a counsellor and then qualified as a counsellor in 2017 with a foundation degree in Integrative, Humanistic, Person-centred Counselling. Since then I have received almost three years' professional development in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy and have built up thousands of direct contact counselling hours with clients.

  • Integrative Counselling
  • Psychotherapeutic tools, guides and worksheets available for home
  • Mindfulness
  • Guided Relaxation
  • Transactional Analysis
  • CBT
  • Strong elements of Gestalt therapy
  • Person Centred counselling if required

I have been trained so as to be able to offer a more person-centred approach to counselling if you prefer a more reflective session led by you as the expert on yourself. this involves being alongside you as you work out your own answers to problems in the here and now. This can be very powerful, is more suitable for the more confident client; those who are having difficulty not related to traumatic experience in childhood or early life where confidence and self esteem has been undermined.

Help with multiple issues

Many people are not exactly sure what parts of their life are the most difficult to bear. You may have multiple competing priorities for example and feel overwhelmed. I can help you identify your priorities.
