About me

I am a Psychotherapist and Neurodiversity Coach based in Norfolk, I work with adults, young people and children from the age of 11.

People seek me out for all sorts of reasons, the most common, but often very confusing, is a feeling of unease about something within themselves. It can get difficult when you don't really know why you feel that way, or even what it really means for you, you just know that something doesn't feel right. That's where I can help, Therapy and Coaching is about feeling safe and secure enough to express your feelings in a variety of different ways, such as art, play, or talking. Talking with someone who can help you unpick your issue, at your own pace, helping you to understand yourself, in partnership with a Therapist and Coach who can give you the conditions to allow you to help yourself.

I am passionate about working with people, empowering them to be the best version of themselves.

I am particularly interested in working with people who are Neurodiverse. I have ADHD myself, and am a parent to two children who both have ADHD, Autism and Tourette Syndrome. This insight shows me first-hand, how misunderstood Neurodiversity really is, especially in an education and work environment. My extensive experience of working within this area has taught me, that in a world that is dominated by social media, it can feel even harder for people to figure out who they are and what their place is in the world.

Prior to becoming a Psychotherapist and Coach, I spent 10 years working with young people and families in a variety of different support and advocate roles, such as, Police School Liaison Officer, Youth Offending Mentor and Pastoral Support Worker in a college. Once qualified, I worked as a Therapist within Higher Education.

Out of my passion and desire to help others move from surviving to thriving, I started my company, Angela Steele Therapeutic Services.

Whether you are an individual looking to explore your own Neurodiverse brain, or a parent or partner trying to learn how to better support your loved one. Get in touch and ask me any questions that you may have about this being the correct path for you.

Getting Started - Call/Text (07946 207902) or email me to set up a free 30 minute initial telephone session. We can spend this time talking about what you want to get out of counselling, if you are happy to continue we can set up our first appointment.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
