Andrea Percy MA, PGDip, BSc (Hons.), MBACP
Counselling aims to develop a better understanding of ourselves and to make sense of difficult situations. This often involves exploring problems as they occur in our current circumstances. Sometimes it can also involve exploring past experiences and relationships and how these might be affecting our current experience.
As a therapist my role is to help people in tough spaces to explore problems. This can be at moments where we feel stuck and unable to move forward or where thoughts or feelings become overwhelming. Counselling can help to make sense of our experience and to gain insight and awareness. The process of therapy is to work through problems in a safe, supportive way in order to facilitate change and move forwards.
As a starting point we would meet for an initial assessment to discuss your reason for seeking therapy and to get a sense of what it will be like to work together. This is a very open conversation with no expectation or obligation.
If we then decide to work together, we will meet regularly in my consulting rooms in Brighton.
My fees are flexible and I offer some concessionary spaces.

What clients say about working with Andrea.
"Andrea really has changed my life, as cheesy as it sounds. I have visited numerous counsellors over the past eight years in the attempt to alleviate the symptoms of my often overwhelming depression and anxiety. Andrea is the only one, I feel, who has been able to truly make a difference to the way I look at things. Her patience, calming, caring but professional manner and determination to help create a long-term change in my mental health really has impacted me in the most positive of ways. I am now able to view the world and situations with a new found awareness and apply this to any hurdles that I may come across."

“I cannot recommend Andrea enough, I feel her style, method and personability will suit anyone who is looking to take the route of counselling."
— Emma 2017
"By the time Andrea saw me, I’d been a patient of several other therapists over the years, each at different stages in my life. Some were good, others not quite so competent, but I can say without a shadow of a doubt that Andrea was and is right up there with the very best. It became clear from the start that Andrea genuinely cared about her clients, and always seemed to be able to find a way in which to put into words what I was feeling and going through, even if that was something I was finding challenging myself.
Honestly, I could write pages and pages about how Andrea has changed my life for the better and has, quite literally, helped me survive through a trauma that no one should ever have to go through, but to sum up I’ll just say this: if you’re looking for a therapist who is knowledgeable, intelligent, insightful, caring and one of the best in her field, look no further than Andrea. She will, as the old adage goes, help you to help yourself and really will change your life for the better."
