About me


If you have reached this page the chances are you may be experiencing some kind of problem, emotional difficulty  or life changing situation.

We all struggle from time to time, it's completely normal, and it is ok to not be ok.

You don't have to struggle on alone.

I'm Andrea Ormond and I can help you work through the confusion.

I have experience of dealing with both men and women experiencing grief, bereavement and loss. Depression, stress and anxiety. Work related issues including trauma. Low self esteem and relationship difficulties. In particular I have experience working with clients dealing with miscarriage, infertility and pregnancy loss.

I currently  provide  counselling within the NHS three days per week in conjunction with my private practice.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Person-Centred Counsellor registered with The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy [BACP ]. I work in accordance with their Codes of Ethics and I am subject to their complaints procedures. As part of my ongoing professional self development I have regular professional supervision and I am committed to continuous professional development and life long learning.

I have over 29yrs  of working within the NHS and have been fortunate enough to work with people from all walks of life in every situation imaginable.

As well as my private practice I  have worked  with a busy Employee Assistance Counselling organisation where I provided telephone or face to face counselling  and I also provided face to face counselling for clients undergoing infertility treatments at a local hospital. I currently counsel individuals 3 days per week in the NHS.

Post Graduate Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy, Strathclyde University.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I see individuals for both short and long term counselling . This is entirely dependant on your goals and wishes. Sessions last 50 mins and are normally once per week to begin with. However we can make a plan that suits your needs at our first meeting. The cost per session is £40.

Wheelchair user access
