About me

Have you felt unhappy recently or overwhelmed by life events? Perhaps you have suffered a loss, or feel anxious or uncertain about who you are or where life is taking you?

Beginning counselling can often be the first step towards valuing ourselves and prioritising our own needs. Often, this can feel unfamiliar and almost selfish. Frequently we spend so much time meeting the needs of other people in our lives that we can forget about our own needs. You are worth taking time over, and it is ok to not be ok.

Being able to talk to a counsellor like myself can help you gain a better understanding of yourself. I aim to provide a caring, non-judgemental place for you to look at what's important to you. I offer you honesty and respect, You are in control about what You talk about. Together we can explore what is troubling you, and get a different perspective on the issue.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Person-Centred Counsellor registered with The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy [BACP]. I am also a member of The British Infertility Counselling Association [BICA]. I work in accordance with their Codes of Ethics and I am subject to their complaints procedures. As part of my ongoing professional self development I have regular professional supervision and i am committed to continuous professional development and life long learning.

I have over 27yrs of working within the NHS and have been fortunate enough to work with people from all walks of life in every situation imaginable.

I have experience working with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, grief and bereavement, including pregnancy loss, family and relationship difficulties, issues of addiction and employment issues to name a few.

As well as my private practice I currently work with a busy Employee Assistance Counselling organisation where I provide telephone or face to face counselling. I continue my role within the NHS and i also provide face to face counselling for clients undergoing infertility treatments at a local hospital.
