About me
Hello, I’m Amy Willmington, a qualified integrative counsellor and founder of Quantum Leaps Counselling. I offer a warm, safe, and supportive space for adults and young people (13+) to explore their thoughts, feelings, and challenges without fear of judgment.
I specialise in helping clients who are struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, parenting pressures, grief & loss, and past trauma. I also work with women through fertility journeys, identity shifts, and transitions into motherhood.
My approach is collaborative and flexible, blending CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), person-centred, and psychodynamic approaches to suit your unique needs. I believe in empowering you to take control of your healing journey, at a pace that feels right for you.
Sessions are held online, providing flexible support from the comfort of your own home. I’ll be accepting new clients from September 2025, with weekday availability and a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit.
You don’t need to face things alone - I’m here to walk beside you as you take steps toward healing, clarity, and confidence.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, gained through extensive training in both theory and practice. My training focused on an integrative approach, drawing from person-centred, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), and psychodynamic models - allowing me to tailor support to each client’s unique needs.
I’m a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and work in accordance with their Ethical Framework, ensuring safe, ethical, and professional practice. I also hold an up-to-date Enhanced DBS check and full professional indemnity insurance.
My experience includes working with:
- Children and young people (13+)
- Anxiety and panic
- Low self-esteem and confidence
- Family and relationship difficulties
- Childhood trauma and inner child work
- Grief and loss
- Stress and burnout
- Women’s health, fertility, and motherhood transitions
Alongside private practice, I’ve supported clients in charitable and community-based counselling settings, helping people from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences.
Continual professional development is important to me - I regularly attend training and supervision to deepen my knowledge and provide the best possible care.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
In addition to the areas listed, I also work with clients navigating:
- Feeling “stuck” or unsure of who they are
- Burnout and overwhelm from juggling too much
- The emotional toll of being a caregiver or parent
- Difficult family dynamics and strained communication
- Adjusting to big life changes – even the ones you “should” feel happy about
- The need to set boundaries and stop people-pleasing
- A deep sense that something’s missing, but not knowing what
- Guilt, shame, or feeling “not good enough”
- Wanting to heal from the past and finally move forward
Sometimes it’s not about one specific issue - it’s about wanting to feel more balanced, grounded, and connected. If that resonates, you’re not alone, and I’d be honoured to support you.

Further information
Starting counselling can feel daunting – especially if you’ve spent a long time holding things in or putting others first. My aim is to make the process feel as comfortable and human as possible.
I created Quantum Leaps Counselling because I believe in the power of small steps leading to meaningful, lasting change. Whether you’re looking to manage anxiety, rebuild confidence, work through past experiences, or simply feel more like yourself again – I’m here to support you with compassion and care.
I work from a place of warmth, inclusivity, and non-judgement. I welcome people from all backgrounds and walks of life, and I’m open to conversations around spirituality, personal belief systems, and finding deeper meaning – if that’s something important to you.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can ask questions and get a feel for whether I’m the right counsellor for you. There’s no pressure – just a space to explore whether we could work well together.
I’m currently accepting enquiries for online counselling sessions starting in September 2025.
