About me

Hi,

I am an experienced, professionally qualified and BACP registered Counsellor.  I hope to be able to offer you a safe, confidential environment that can support you to explore areas within your life that are troubling you, thus promoting awareness and personal resilience.

I understand that sometimes there is not always an answer to every problem and sometimes it is simply about taking the journey with another person that actually makes the difference.

Counselling is not an easy option it takes courage and strength. It helps us think about things in a different light and from a different perspective. Hopefully it helps us to find a way to move forward with changes and find new strategies to help face future challenges.

I am passionate about talking therapies and self-exploration and believe the success or failure of any therapy is very much dependent upon the skills of the practitioner providing safe frameworks. I truly believe we all have ability to find our way given the time, right conditions and support.

As an Integrative Therapist I will adapt and tailor my approach to suit you and your individual needs, be it long or short term. A non judgmental approach and empathy are at the centre of my practice and the development of our relationship.

If this is your first experience of Therapy I am happy to talk through the different approaches should you wish to chat about it before booking. I have a friendly manner, but know it is sometimes easier to speak to and experience a person on the phone before deciding if they are the right Counsellor for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
