About me

Individual and couples therapy for adults and young people in Ipswich IP1 and online or by phone. I am accredited by the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society, and work in accordance with their Code of Ethics.

I am an experienced counsellor and supervisor (please see my Supervisor profile if you are seeking supervision), and I work with a person centred approach, which means primarily I am here to listen, actively, to try to understand your experience and its meaning to you. The power of a supportive therapeutic relationship is often underestimated, and I will accompany you with empathy, acceptance and a genuine interest in you and the matters you wish to bring to therapy. You are free to explore, at your own pace, what is important for you. We all have an inbuilt drive to develop in ways that serve and enhance ourselves and others, and my aim is to facilitate your unique process of healing and growth.

I am trauma-informed, and work with people experiencing a wide range of challenges, from depression and anxiety (including social anxiety and generalised anxiety disorder), panic attacks, low self-esteem and low self-confidence, phobias and family issues, to abuse (including domestic and childhood abuse), bereavement, addiction, self-harm and feeling suicidal. I am also open to focusing on personal development, if there are areas of life in which you want to generate more of what's already working, or bring about progress and change.

If you would like more information about me or about person-centred therapy, please get in touch with me by phone or via the 'email me' button above, or you can email me direct at amydann.therapy@gmail.com, or contact me by phone on 07816 273 907. I am available to respond Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm. Please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
