About me

Hello i1m Amy, I am a fully qualified  Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist.  I offer a therapeutic approach  that combines Person centered therapy with solution focused therapy, Emotional Freedom Tapping therapy and Hypnotherapy to support adults with a wide range of challenges. I have experiencing helping those with Anxiety, Depression, Self doubt, Sight loss, Bereavement and loss, Self harm and much more.

I love to listen, support and encourage growth with a relaxed, down to earth, confidential and non judgmental space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings and emotions.

I am a great believer that constructive counselling can assist individuals to overcome their struggles with a friendly, patient and supportive therapist, I also realise we are all unique and have varied outlooks on life which requires therapy to be tailored to each individuals requirements.

WHERE I WORK

I offer face to face appointments to clients in or around the  Blackburn area and online or telephone sessions to the wider population. I offer flexible working hours to best fit clients' availability as I understand the balance of home and work life can be difficult. I offer daytime, evening and weekend appointments.

Sessions with me consist of a free 30 minute consultation over the phone to initially get to know me and ask any questions regarding therapy and if you wish to continue further and you feel I am right for you then we will arrange a suitable time and date your first therapy session.

Therapy sessions last 1 hour allowing for arrival and settling in, 50 minutes of therapy and a check out before leaving.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
