About me

Welcome - I'm a person-centered counsellor based in Manchester.

I believe that healing begins with a genuine, trusting relationship. My aim is to create a compassionate space where you can feel truly heard, understood and accepted. Within this supportive environment, you are free to explore whatever feels important to you, at your own pace, and to lead your own process of growth and healing.

You may be struggling with, anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder, low mood, Depression , loneliness, low self-worth, low self-confidence, relationship issues, loss, or life changes, including menopause. Whatever you are facing i will walk alongside you with empathy and respect, supporting you as you gain clarity, confidence and a deeper understanding of yourself.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a trauma informed counsellor and I have experience supporting clients navigating complex interpersonal relationships and all the far-reaching effects these can have on emotional and mental wellbeing, including feelings of isolation and disconnection, as well as suicidal ideation. I have also worked with and supported individuals experiencing bereavement and loss, as well as those undergoing cancer treatment or living with chronic or life-limiting illness.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I am a neuro-affirming and inclusive counsellor, committed to offering a space where all aspects of your identity are welcomed and respected.

Before I trained as a counsellor I worked for many years in business and as a result of this I have a lived understanding of specific stress effecting professionals, this enables me to understand the complex emotional drivers of others. This experience enables me to understand how relational difficulties and emotional strain can impact every area of life-from work and family to self-worth and identity. I am continually developing my knowledge and practice and I feel deeply inspired by the courage and resilience my clients show in their relationships, both with themselves and others.
