MBACP Counsellor

About me

Taking the first step into counselling often comes at a moment when life feels heavier than it should. You might be carrying a lot of responsibilities, emotions, other people’s needs and somewhere along the way, you’ve stopped having space for yourself. If that’s where you are, you’re not alone. I offer a calm, steady space where you can breathe, talk, and make sense of what’s been happening inside you.

My approach is gentle and grounded. I won’t rush you, direct you, or tell you what to do. Instead, I listen closely, reflect honestly, and help you understand your emotional world in a way that feels manageable and validating. From that understanding, change becomes possible whether that’s feeling less overwhelmed, responding differently to stress, improving relationships, or finding a clearer sense of direction.

Many of my clients come to me when they feel stuck in relational patterns, overwhelmed by responsibility, or caught in cycles of guilt, anxiety, or emotional exhaustion. Together, we slow things down so you can regain clarity, strength, and a way forward that feels right for you.

I work with adults, couples, and young people, supporting a wide range of experiences including anxiety, stress, trauma, bereavement, relationship difficulties, domestic abuse, and low self-esteem. Alongside my private practice, I also work with charities and agencies, which keeps me connected to diverse stories and different forms of support.

For couples, I offer a space where both partners can speak openly and feel heard. We explore communication, emotional distance, trust, and the patterns that keep you stuck. My aim is to help you understand each other more deeply and rebuild connection in a way that feels safe and honest.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, unheard, or ready for life to feel lighter, I’m here to walk alongside you as things begin to settle, shift, and open up in the ways that are right for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
