About me

I can now offer sessions face to face as my office meets the government social distancing guidelines. If you prefer I can also offer an online service. I recommend a free initial consultation (face to face / telephone ) to answer any questions you may have and to see if I am the right counsellor to join you on your journey.

I also have the support from having a supervisor who is an online specialist so this ensures I can ethically offer online counselling to my clients.

Anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship issues, whatever your reason for looking here, I guess you're looking for something to change! Counselling offers you an opportunity to open up, explore and reassess current or historic issues, which may be holding you back. This can lead to a greater and lasting sense of empowerment and self-understanding, enabling you to live in a more satisfying and resourceful way with a greater sense of well being.

I won't push you to talk about things you don't want to talk about. There's no judgement, diagnosis or advice. Just a safe, confidential environment where there's time and space to work through whatever is bothering you, to come to your own conclusions and find your way forward to a more resilient, fulfilling way of living.

If you're looking for a calm place to clear your thoughts, a confidential relationship where you can talk about what's bothering you, a creative space to work on what is holding you back and a caring presence to help you find the way forward, get in touch.

I am fully insured which covers online therapy with an enhanced DBS certificate, a member of the professional body BACP and I am registered with the ICO. What does this mean? It means I work within ethical boundaries to ensure the safety of all my clients. Confidentiality and guidelines are important to follow to make sure I am providing the highest service within the profession.

Counselling is one to one and is provided in a beautiful room in Wakefield easily accessible by car, bus and train, with free parking onsite.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accessibility

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
