Alyson Wood - BSc (Hons), BACP
Finding the right therapist for counselling in itself can be a journey so thank you for taking the time to look through what I can offer you. I can offer a safe and confidential space to talk through whatever you feel you would like bring. For me, I am a qualified counsellor who works with a Person-Centred approach. What does this mean? It means I won’t be offering advice, I will be treating you with respect, showing empathy in a non judgmental space, where we can build a therapeutic relationship to work together.
The person-centred approach works well with people who want to explore their feelings without being directed. I believe that a person given the right support has the ability to achieve their full potential.
I understand every counsellor may not be right, so I suggest a free initial consultation lasting around 30 minutes to see if this is something we both feel comfortable in working together and to answer any questions you may have.
I am fully insured with an enhanced DBS certificate, a member of the professional body BACP and I am registered with the ICO. What does this mean? It means I work within ethical boundaries to ensure the safety of all my clients. Confidentiality and guidelines are important to follow to make sure I am providing the highest service within the profession.
Counselling is one to one and is provided in a beautiful room in Wakefield easily accessible by car, bus and train, with free parking onsite.
