Alyson Wood - BSc (Hons), BACP
Covid-19. I have the requirements to move my practice online in regards to the governments social distancing rules. In exceptional times like this counselling can provide a much needed resource for anyone suffering from CV related/non related issues
I can offer counselling over the telephone or online whatever suits you better and this can be short term or longer term. We can also move this to face to face when this becomes available or stay with the preferred choice.
In regards to the lockdown I am offering a free telephone counselling assessment to see whether you feel we will be right to work together.
I also have the support from having a supervisor who is an online specialist so this ensures I can ethically offer online counselling to my clients.
Anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship issues, whatever your reason for looking here, I guess you're looking for something to change! Counselling offers you an opportunity to open up, explore and reassess current or historic issues, which may be holding you back. This can lead to a greater and lasting sense of empowerment and self-understanding, enabling you to live in a more satisfying and resourceful way with a greater sense of well being.
I won't push you to talk about things you don't want to talk about. There's no judgement, diagnosis or advice. Just a safe, confidential environment where there's time and space to work through whatever is bothering you, to come to your own conclusions and find your way forward to a more resilient, fulfilling way of living.
If you're looking for a calm place to clear your thoughts, a confidential relationship where you can talk about what's bothering you, a creative space to work on what is holding you back and a caring presence to help you find the way forward, get in touch.
I understand every counsellor is different and it is important to find the right counsellor for you, so I suggest a free telephone initial consultation lasting around 15 minutes to see if this is something we both feel comfortable in working together and to answer any questions you may have.
I am fully insured which covers online therapy with an enhanced DBS certificate, a member of the professional body BACP and I am registered with the ICO. What does this mean? It means I work within ethical boundaries to ensure the safety of all my clients. Confidentiality and guidelines are important to follow to make sure I am providing the highest service within the profession.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
