About me

Are you feeling overwhelmed, lost, or struggling with your life? Are the pressures of daily life, cultural expectations, or past experiences weighing heavily on your heart and mind?

It is not uncommon to feel this way, especially if you have been trying to navigate life’s complexities on your own. Whether you are facing anxiety, depression, fear, exhaustion, or adjusting to a new environment, these feelings can leave you feeling isolated and unsure of where to turn. Feelings like sadness, guilt, shame, anger, and anxiety are all too familiar to many. These emotions are part of our shared human experience. My role as a counsellor is to help you recognise these feelings, navigate them, walk with you as you journey through therapy and develop coping mechanisms. Together, we will work to reclaim your sense of self and build resilience in a safe, supportive space.

I understand first-hand how difficult it can be to take that step, but I also know how life-changing therapy can be. Growth often happens when we push beyond our comfort zone.

As a person-centred therapist, I strive to deeply understand what you are going through. I will make every effort to see the world through your eyes, accepting you just as you are. My goal is to help you embrace yourself and recognise your worth, fostering a path toward healing and self-compassion.

I offer counselling in English, Arabic, and Swedish. My approach is flexible and tailored to your needs. Whether you need a space to talk without judgment or you are looking for guidance through specific challenges, I am here to support you.

Finding the right therapist is important, I offer a 15-minute free call, allowing us to meet, discuss your needs, and help you decide if I am the right fit for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

My primary therapeutic grounding is in Person-Centred therapy, an approach that emphasises the importance of empathy, non-judgment and unconditional positive regard to allowing the client to become their own expert. Academically I have a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I also work in an integrative style, encompassing other therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy, allowing me to tailor my work to the unique needs of each client.

My areas of specialisation include trauma, anxiety, depression, and significant life transitions. I also work with grief, sadness, fear, and relationships. I am passionate about helping clients build resilience, develop coping strategies, and find a sense of stability and fulfilment, even in the face of emotional distress or major life changes.

I have worked in roles in the following counselling specialisms: Bereavement, Drugs and alcohol, General mental health, and Psychiatric Hospital. I have also worked as a Research Assistant in mental health.

I am committed to continuing my professional development, attending workshops, and seeking supervision to ensure I provide the highest quality of care for my clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

At the start of all therapy, I offer an individual assessment to identify key concerns and clarify the goals you want to achieve. From there, we create a personalised treatment plan designed to support your unique journey.

This process is collaborative, solution-focused, and driven by the priorities you set. We often start by exploring the roots of your current difficulties before building on goals, changes and outcomes. Alternatively, therapy for you might simply be about having someone there to listen - offering a space where you can talk openly without fear of judgment. Whatever your needs, we work at a pace and style that suits you best.

Sessions are generally held once a week, 50 minutes, but we can also meet twice a week or fortnightly if that suits your needs. I offer flexibility because everyone’s challenges and circumstances are unique.
