About me

Hello and a warm welcome to you. Thank you for visiting my page.

My name is Aly and I am a BACP registered therapist offering friendly, professional sessions from my comfortable, calm therapy room in Maidstone and online therapy sessions.  Both daytime and evening appointments available.

I specialise in working with:

Anxiety and stress - Neurodiversity - Self-esteem/self belief - Relationships- Loss - Depression

I am passionate and committed to seeing clients in a better place to where they may be now and for them to not suffer or be in pain any longer.

You may be experiencing anxiety which affects your everyday life, you may feel like you can’t get a break from it, it feels suffocating and you want to be free from it...

Life may be extremely stressful, challenging and overwhelming at this time with so much going on, you just feel like you are just about functioning and existing but not truly living...

You are questioning things in your life and wanting to make sense of who you really are and what matters to you...

My approach

I specialise in working with client led approach which places you at the heart of therapy process.  I strongly believe that you are the expert in your life and you have the skills for personal growth.  I will work alongside you, providing a safe space for you to be not just listened to buy really heard.  I tailor therapy to your own individual needs and go at your pace.

Life is tough, it dishes out plenty of pain for each of us at some point. Whether you're seeking to overcome obstacles, heal from past wounds, or simply find balance in your life, I am here to help you every step of the way.

Through your exploration, I will understand the issues and problems that you are experiencing in your life.  You can discover and recognise your strengths and learn to trust these.  I can give you the skills to make positive steps in learning to deal with life’s challenges more effectively.  This will give you the peace you deserve and lead to living a richer, meaningful and more contended life.

It can be really daunting finding the right therapist, I get it, I’ve been there. I really believe that the therapeutic relationship is key and when an authentic connection is created, my clients thrive in therapy.   It can often be challenging work so finding the right therapist who ‘feels right’ is the key to your success.

Some examples of the benefits you may experience by working with me include:

Increased emotional wellness and resilience
Greater self-esteem/self awareness
Improved ways of relating and communicating with others
Living a less stressful life
Free of worry and anxiety
Tools to support you to live the life you want
Understanding loss and what it means for you
If you feel now is the right time, let’s look at what next towards possibly working together:

What next

After your initial contact through e-mail, message or text, I will aim to respond to you within 4 hours (please check your junk e-mail as replies can often go in there!).

If you would like to talk to me and ask any questions you may have, we can arrange an initial call for up to 20 minutes.  After that, we can arrange an initial appointment which will last 1 hr.  During this time, you will be encouraged to talk about why you are considering therapy and the difficulties that lead you to seeking therapy.  We can explore whether and how therapy might be helpful to you.  If you wish to continue, we can arrange a weekly or fortnightly session (depending on needs) at the same time and day each week or when suits you.

Further sessions are 50 minutes long.  I offer open ended counselling, the length of counselling and number of sessions will differ from person to person depending on their own personal needs, goals and expectations.  Sessions can be for as long as you feel necessary.

If you have had enough of feeling the way you do, if you feel stuck and want a way out then please do get in touch.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
