Sometimes we have moments where we sail through life, sometimes we have experiences that rock our foundations. Life can, at times, be tough and can make us feel anxious and overwhelmed. Whether you’re experiencing difficult or complex issues, going through an upheaval or perhaps just need some space and time to process what is happening, then counselling can help.
I offer a safe, supportive and nurturing place to help you examine and express your thoughts and feelings. By providing a confidential and non-judgemental space in which you can explore and reflect upon the issues which have brought you to seek support, I can help you get back to a more balanced life.
I understand that it may be daunting embarking on counselling, and it takes courage to contact a counsellor. It’s important that you feel comfortable with the counsellor you choose and so I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation to allow you to discuss your concerns and ask any questions. If after that you decide you would like to begin counselling with me, we can agree on a time and day.
**In light of the current climate, I am now able to offer telephone or online counselling **
Training, qualifications & experience
I’m a fully qualified and experienced Integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist. Although I have trained in many modalities, my core training is in Person-Centred therapy. This assumes that we are all unique individuals who instinctively know what is needed in order to thrive. I may use a variety of therapeutic techniques to help understand your concerns, but you are the expert in knowing what’s best for you. You may just need a bit of support and guidance to help you find your solutions.
I have experience working in diverse settings with people of all ages, different cultures and struggling with a range of issues including: grief/bereavement, miscarriage, trauma, anxiety, depression, sexual/emotional abuse, self-esteem, bullying, body image, avoidant personality disorders, relationship issues and sight loss.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
