About me

I provide a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space to explore what's on your mind and holding you back from living the life you want.  It's important, when we are facing difficult times, to not feel alone. When we need support, to have someone by your side.  To work with whatever you bring.

My clients often come to me exhausted and tired of their own thoughts.  We can work together to get curious - gently - about what you think and what you would like to change.

I have seen many remarkable changes in clients who have found a better understanding of themselves, built resilience and hope learned to live more satisfactory and fulfilling lives.  My aim is to teach you to be your own therapist, to arm you with the tools that will help and sustain you throughout your life.

"Therapy has been transformative."                                                                               M, Edinburgh

"I see things completely differently now and have coping skills going forwards. I'm learning to like myself."                                                                                               C, Perth

As an experienced therapist, I work with a variety of concerns.  I can offer clinically proven treatments to help, tailored specifically to your needs and always working in collaboration with whatever you bring to therapy. We will look at why you think and feel the way you do, explore whatever is holding you back from living the life you want.

By offering support and understanding I can help to find new ways of seeing yourself, approaching problems and increase your strengths and resources.

It can be daunting to think about starting therapy.  I offer a brief, no obligation introductory chat to help ease your concerns, answer your questions and decide if we are a good fit.  If not, and that's always your right and prerogative, I will be happy to recommend a colleague.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
