About me
Loss is something every one of us will experience in our lifetime, and just as every loss is unique, so too is our response to it. There is no right or wrong way to grieve, and there is no time limit on the process.
Some losses are harder to bear than others, but each one can bring sadness and emotional pain. At times, this pain might feel overwhelming. However, I speak from personal experience when I say it is possible to feel joy again.
When someone we love or care about dies, it’s not unusual to feel numb at first. Over time, that numbness may be replaced by intense emotions such as anger, bitterness, jealousy, guilt, remorse, or even indifference or relief. These feelings are all valid. But if we suppress them—perhaps because we don’t want to burden others, or we believe we “shouldn’t” feel a certain way, or that we should already be “over it”—we risk becoming stuck or even depressed.
While the death of a loved one is an obvious cause for grief, there are many other kinds of loss that we may need to mourn. Perhaps you are going through a breakup or divorce, or you’ve fallen out with a friend or family member. Grieving the end of these relationships is often a necessary step before we can embrace the changes they bring.
Major life changes can also bring feelings of bereavement. Whether it’s having a baby, losing a job, moving to a new place, retiring, or watching your children leave home, these moments may leave you grieving the life or identity you had before. This is a natural and important part of adapting to change.
If you are experiencing—or have experienced—any kind of loss and are struggling to cope, please don’t hesitate to reach out. There is no time limit on grief, and I will hold space for you to safely explore your feelings and emotions. Together, we can work through your pain and help you find your way toward healing and peace.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
