About me

Hi there, my name's Ali. Thanks for visiting my profile.

I’m an experienced therapist and I'm here to provide a supportive space tailored to meet your needs. My wide experience covers issues like anxiety and depression and I specialise in working with LGBTQ+ people.  I'm based in London offering sessions in-person in Walthamstow and Central London as well as online UK-wide. I offer walk and talk therapy in green spaces in East London.

Since you’ve found your way to this page, you’re most likely struggling with something in your life, and may be looking for help with coping. You might be finding feelings and situations overwhelming and need help to sort out the jumble and make sense of what’s happening for you, and what you need.

In our counselling sessions, we can talk about whatever is on your mind right now. I'm caring, calm, empathic and easy to talk to. I provide a non-judgmental, confidential space, focused on you.

Clients tell me how our work together has transformed the way they understand themselves, how they manage relationships and make decisions about their lives. I often hear that clients feel more confident in their communication with those around them, and that they have a happier, healthier relationship with themselves and discover what they really want from life.

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm fully qualified with an advanced diploma in integrative therapeutic counselling. My additional training includes a focus on supporting trans clients, neurodiversity, sex therapy and attachment. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and practice in line with their ethical framework. I trained in walk and talk therapy with Creative Counsellors.

In various roles and voluntary positions I’ve worked to provide support for disabled people and those with chronic health conditions (including long covid), LGBT+ folks and people with substance addiction, among other issues. More recently I’ve worked in the NHS providing IAPT counselling for patients in South London.

I have experience working with the following issues: Addiction, ADHD, Anger management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Borderline personality, Chronic illness (including long covid), Depression, Disability, Dissociation, Domestic abuse, Family issues, LGBTQ+, Personality disorders, Relationships and sex, Self esteem, Sex, Stress and work, Trauma and PTSD

I’d be pleased to hear from you if these or any other issues have affected your life, and you'd like to talk. Get in touch now for a free, no-obligation chat.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
