About me

Hello, I'm Alex.

I'm an accredited and fully qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist operating from Lichfield, Swadlincote and Burton on Trent.

I've worked as a counsellor since 2018. During that time I have worked with client experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, relationship issues, domestic and sexual abuse trauma, self-harm, gender identity and work-based difficulties.

I have worked for various counselling organisations such as sexual and domestic abuse charities, schools, colleges and sixth forms & various mental health agencies.

In my private work I work with adults and young people, providing both short and long-term therapy depending on an individual's need and goals.

You will find my approach warm, friendly and grounded, as well as practical, goal focused and no-nonsense making it easier for you to explore your thoughts, emotions and behaviours in a safe, non-judgemental, confidential space.

I am a dedicated private practitioner, bringing seven years of experience providing compassionate, individualised therapy to diverse client populations. I specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focused-Therapy, Person-Centred and Attachment therapy, focusing on creating a safe, non-judgemental space for clients to explore personal challenges and work toward meaningful change. My practice emphasises evidence-based techniques tailored to each client’s unique needs, enabling me to support them in achieving lasting personal growth and resilience. I am committed to professional integrity, continuous learning, and empowering clients on their journeys to mental well-being.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
