About me
I am a Mental Health Counsellor with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, working with adults (18+) across the UK. I am passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges and move towards a more contented, fulfilling self.
People seek counselling for many reasons. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, or relationship difficulties. You might want to explore past or present events, gain insight into patterns of thought and behaviour, or develop healthier coping strategies.
Counselling provides a dedicated time and space to process these feelings, increase self-understanding, and move forward. However, therapy is most effective when chosen voluntarily. Research shows that the quality of the therapist-client relationship is the biggest factor in successful outcomes.
My Approach
I use a Person-Centred Counselling approach, a humanistic model developed by Carl Rogers. His belief was that when people are provided with the right conditions—acceptance, honesty, and deep empathy—they naturally move towards becoming their true selves, allowing them to flourish and experience contentment.
In our sessions, you will find a non-judgmental, safe space where you can explore whatever feels important to you. I also integrate other therapeutic approaches when helpful, supporting you in reframing thoughts and gaining a deeper understanding of yourself.
Some of the areas I can support with include:
- Exploring ADHD symptoms
- Understanding and processing childhood trauma
- Developing better coping mechanisms for stress and anxiety
- Improving self-esteem and confidence
- Managing career stress and workplace challenges
- Coping with irrational or repetitive worries
- Working through relationship and family difficulties
- Processing grief and loss
- Managing anxiety and depression
No matter what has brought you here, my role is to listen, support, and help you work towards meaningful change.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), following their ethical guidelines.
Before training as a counsellor, I spent 20 years as a teacher and Head of Year in both mainstream and specialist schools across Bath, Bristol, and London. I found that the most rewarding part of my role was offering pastoral care and supporting students through personal challenges.
Since transitioning into counselling, my experience includes:
- Working in private practice based in Bradford On Avon
- Counselling students at universities in Bath and Bristol
- Mentoring university students across the UK, both online and in person
- Working with a diverse range of adults, including those exploring neurodiversity
I also have a personal understanding of ADHD, having been diagnosed as an adult. While I do not claim to be an expert, I bring a lived experience that helps me work empathetically with neurodivergent clients.
I am committed to ongoing professional development and regularly attend additional training. This deepens my understanding of psychotherapeutic theories, concepts, and techniques, ensuring I meet the highest professional standards and can offer the best possible support.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
