Reg MBACP Integrative Counsellor

About me

My Approach

I work relationally, meaning therapy is a collaborative process shaped by the relationship we build together. I don't see therapy as being about "fixing" you or applying a technique. Instead, I see it as a conversation and relationship through which we can make sense of your experiences, understand recurring patterns, and discover new ways of relating to yourself and others.

My Background

My background is in gardening and bodywork - both need time, space, and the right kind of pressure to change.  Therapy is much the same - noticing both what is spoken and what is felt, doing a bit of digging - sometimes getting a bit messy - and letting something new take shape.

If anything here resonates and you'd like to explore whether working together might feel right, you're welcome to get in touch.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a BACP registered counsellor with a Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling, working in private practice in Brighton.

I am fully certified by the Albany Centre to provide adoption support counselling and have many years' experience working with Cruse, supporting people through bereavement and complex grief.

I offer couple/relationship therapy having completed specialist training gaining a professional Certificate in Couple/Relationship Therapy accredited by COSRT at Level 5.

I am also trained in ASIST (suicide intervention) and continue to undertake CPD in trauma informed and developmental trauma approaches as part of my commitment to my ongoing professional development.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
