The Therapy Couch UK - MBACP

About me

Hi, I’m Aishah, and I believe in your capacity to heal, grow, and thrive. As a therapist, my role is to walk beside you as you rediscover your inner resources and navigate the changes you’re ready to make. My background combines counselling psychology with mindfulness practices, and I’ve helped clients break free from self-doubt, stress, and patterns that no longer serve them. If you’re ready to explore your next chapter, I’m here with curiosity, warmth, and respect.

The Therapy Couch is based within Lancashire as well as online remote counselling available for clients that may wish to access this service from the comfort of their homes/safe spaces
Client's confidentiality and safety is always a priority. Regular, long term therapy or brief shorter term therapy is available. Life is messy and often doesn't fit into convenient working hours, embracing this, we also offer evening and weekend sessions on request.

Welcome to a space where your story is heard without judgment, and healing begins with trust. I offer compassionate, confidential counselling tailored to support you through life’s challenges, whether you’re navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, or simply feeling stuck. My approach is rooted in deep listening, empathy, and empowerment, creating a safe environment where real, lasting change can unfold. This isn’t just about coping, it’s about transformation, growth, and finding your way back to yourself

Whatever the label your pain has been given, the judgement or diagnosis; It is the person I work with and most of us have a diverse range of ever changing things we need support with through counselling.

It takes courage to enter counselling, so whatever reason to seek it,
get in contact for an informed, open and honest discussion on how The Therapy Couch can help.

I use a variety of evidence-based techniques, including cognitive behavioural therapy and solution focused therapy, to help my clients overcome negative thought patterns and behaviours. I believe in working through past traumas and successfully gaining the correct support to help you become the best version of yourself.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
