About me

Welcome I'm Adele, Art Therapist I am registered with BAAT (British Association of Art Therapist) HPC (Health Professional council) and abide by there code of ethics.

Accredited with BACP (British association of councellors and psychotherapists), I hold a current CRB and I have full indemnity insurance.

I have many years experience working in psychological services in adult mental health and learning disabilities. In my private practice I work with a wide variety of concerns, such as relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, problems coping with day to day life, lack of confidence and low self esteem.

There could be many reason why you may be thinking about art therapy/counselling from dealing with adverse life events to feeling over whelmed by difficult feelings that affect your day to day life.

You may be considering counselling because you want to understand yourself and your relationships better, either personally or in your workplace you may consider talking about something difficult or painful that you have been struggling with.

I offer a safe confidential space, I can help you make links between your present difficulties and your past experiences. Recognising and understanding your problems will help you cope better and feel more in control of your life.

Your first consultation will give you the opportunity to tell me about your concerns and what has brought you to therapy, you may wish to think about what we have talked about before you decide that counselling is your way forward.

I work one to one and I also run groups. One of my groups is a reflective art therapy group for people coming to terms with life changes an example being retirement, redundancy, loss.

Art Therapy

Sometimes it is difficult to articulate how you feel or what your problems may be. The arts offer a way to process feelings in a safe and contained way,
there are no requirements to be artistic to benefit from this way of working. I work as an art therapist when specifically requested and also groups with special needs.

Any images made will be kept safe until the end of therapy when you will have the opportunity to decide what you would like to do with the work.

For any questions you may have please phone or email me and I will respond as soon as possible.

I must stress that any information you may give me will be held in the strictest confidence.
